The Rolling Jubilee – Tell Your Friends

The Rolling Jubilee is an American initiative, borne in the love of their fellow countrymen and women, and beautifully, their love of Country. What interest is it to Canadian, such as myself. It is a sign of things to come in Canada as well. It is a sign of ingenuity, and of refusal to merely take the 1% line sitting down. Purely, it is resistance. It is pushinback.

I rejoice in the fact that there are so many people that are becoming engaged in helping the extremely poor, in breaking them free from their demoralizing debt. It was Gandhi that said, “Poverty is the worst kind of violence.”  I do, however, lament the fact that so much effort and kindness has to be wasted on an injustice that our governments should never have tolerated to begin with. Whose government is it, where banks cause a crisis, are then bailed out and then, a few days after the crisis, are back in control of our countries again.Whose government allows lending institutions to charge compound interest which drag individuals and nations down to the slavery of debt?

It is not my government, and it is not your government; the parties, engaged in all our political parties, whether in  Canada, the US, England  etc.etc.etc.who are running our governments, have sold out to those who have bought them with election dollars; he who pays the piper plays the tune. So where is our alternative? Anyone that would be a free-man, or a free-woman will see that we must make a psychological cut from our belief in, and our reliance to any party that is not independent of the rules of the Party System.

We can no longer ask our politicians what they propose to do for us, and then wait for them to save us; they are too busy enriching the already rich. It is time we become informed about what we need, what we want and then, pardon my passion, yelling in their ears so strongly they cannot not hear it.

But, after more than 40 years involved in grassroots politics, talking or yelling to our present parties and their leaders is a waste of time. The same old will stay the same old because it is all they know, it is in their DNA. But, my guess is that the public will need to make a few more psychological shifts before they get to this shift in consciousness.

But for those who do get it, get prepared. The public’s next step after total disillusionment in the system (and we are within a breath away from it), will be to understand that we have to turn our hopes away from the Party System, and away from the British Parliamentary System, and we will only find our hope and direction in voting for accountable Independents. For those that can see the vision today, get the word out, and find honest, sincere candidates that love country above money or fame. These people must be prepared to serve, to bring true, Direct Democracy accountable government to Canada, or any other nation in which they reside.

The future is ours, if we envision it, and then go forward to seize it. Please seize this idea, and the only hope we have. Please get out the word. Send this to your friends so this vision can roll forward into the political landscape that now stands so barren.

About pushinback

Back in 1993, I attended an anti-Nafta rally in Ottawa along with over 110,000 others. But despite the overwhelming opposition to NAFTA, the steamroller rolled on. It was there that I came to understand the one vital thing that I have been preaching ever since. There are so many issues, and so many fighting each issue, we are all spinning our wheels, and wasting our time, talents and energy, because each election, we give the politicians our power and so the deck is stacked against us. I said it that day and I say it with more fervency today. We all have one issue that we share, and we should all stop fighting for our own issues and losing anyways, and we should fight to achieve that one thing that we all share. We Canadians all have to fight to finally get a say between elections. We need to fight to make politicians accountable to us, the people. If there is no accountability, and the people have no say between elections, we have no Democracy. My Blog is written to teach the reader the essential knowledge of freedom and Democracy. Please read, and learn. I am one person, but I leave you my witness that one person is not powerless, only first you must first learn and then act. Let the democratic revolution begin. Kindest regards, Rob McQueen
