A Better Strategy for Nigeria

NigeriaI don’t know how to catalog this article. I am just dumbfounded that the things in the news seems to ridiculous that you feel like shouting at your radio or television. Sometimes people in the news seem so stupid that you feel like you could just put a dunce cap on them.

The story is the kidnapping of the 200 – some school girls, and the newest development is that the kidnappers, the Boko Haram militants, want the Nigerian Government to release their members in Nigerian jails. The latest news is that Nigeria is thinking about releasing the prisoners for the exchange the girls.  Of course, exchange the prisoners for the girls. But with a twist, the Government has no idea where the militants are, and these guys are tremendously dangerous to the nation’s stability. So this is where the stupid comes into the story; instead, why doesn’t the government get some boots and embed tracking devices in the heels of fairly nice boots, and leave them hanging around in the prison so the Boko Haram prisoners to find them. The Government releases the prisoners to the militants, the children are released, hurray, parents are are enormormously happy, smiles all around. And with the tracking devices pinging out there…… jets lift off the ground, fly over the area, drop several large bombs on the miltants’s camp, killing them all ……end of story …….. and everyone lives happily ever after. The girls get to go back to their homes to happy parents, and the leaders get to go back to their greed and filthy riches.

This is a similar story to the pirate story off the shores of Somolia in Africa. It took over a year to get the situation in hand, and in the meantime $Millions were taken as private

boats, oil tankers and trade ships paid handsome ransomes were paid to release the vessels.

Take a look at that small power boat, now imagine it coming aside, or even from behind a large vessel. The owners of those commercial vessels knew, passing by Somalia, that the pirates where there. Just say the captains of those big ships got platforms with oil and gas in the covered drums, have the drums sealed, but at the ready, a small  vessel comes up from behind complete with men waving weapons in the air….. The captain orders that the oil / gas mixer is dumped into the water. A lit match is merrily dropped over the side and after a few shiskabob moments and the pirates, not in that operation, begin to see the wisdom of taking up fishing.

Some problems only require a little creative thought to tame unruly situations. But somehow it is difficult for World Leaders to come up with creative, out of the box thinking. I just don’t think that Leaders of most nations are that smart.

About pushinback

Back in 1993, I attended an anti-Nafta rally in Ottawa along with over 110,000 others. But despite the overwhelming opposition to NAFTA, the steamroller rolled on. It was there that I came to understand the one vital thing that I have been preaching ever since. There are so many issues, and so many fighting each issue, we are all spinning our wheels, and wasting our time, talents and energy, because each election, we give the politicians our power and so the deck is stacked against us. I said it that day and I say it with more fervency today. We all have one issue that we share, and we should all stop fighting for our own issues and losing anyways, and we should fight to achieve that one thing that we all share. We Canadians all have to fight to finally get a say between elections. We need to fight to make politicians accountable to us, the people. If there is no accountability, and the people have no say between elections, we have no Democracy. My Blog is written to teach the reader the essential knowledge of freedom and Democracy. Please read, and learn. I am one person, but I leave you my witness that one person is not powerless, only first you must first learn and then act. Let the democratic revolution begin. Kindest regards, Rob McQueen
