More Dangerous than Terrorists

senateWe have heard our Prime Minister to refer to the perpetrators of the 2 deadly acts on soldiers as Terrorists and he has said that these Terrorists will not deter us or our Democracy. They suggest the implementing of new and stronger laws against these Terrorists.

Yes, many Canadians are fearful of further attacks on the Canadian People themselves, but many are also fearful of a Conservative Government knee jerk reaction to the frightening experience that they just went through. It is natural for someone that has been through that kind of ordeal to act in a self preserving manner. These laws may in fact infringe upon the rights of law-abiding Canadians but these laws, if enacted, would actually miss the mark anyways. These 2 men, the perpetrators of these attacked were mentally ill first, and perhaps misguided Islamists secondarily. To make a law against Terrorist would not help stop the mentally ill.

The proposed law miss the fact of the Government’s first failure, that being that Governments are no longer use the policy of treating the mentally ill in Institutions. The Justice System is no place to treat those with delusions, only psychological treatment will help these troubled people . The fact that the Ottawa perpetrator, Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau, went to the police, asking them to incarcerate him because he was capable of a violent crime and him not being taken into a Psychiatric Institution, and he was not, puts the blame for Cpl. Nathan Cirillo’s death on the failure of the Justice System. Likewise, to promote an oppressive law in the name of Cpl. Cirillo would be an afront to him. He stood with a unarmed weapon, and confronted Mr. Bibeau to protect our Representatives and paid with his life to protect our Democratic Institution.

For our Prime Minister to use this state of fear to impose new and possibly oppressive laws, that will directly impact the lives of everyday, law abiding Canadian would make our Prime Minister more dangerous to our Country than those so-called Terrorists.

About pushinback

Back in 1993, I attended an anti-Nafta rally in Ottawa along with over 110,000 others. But despite the overwhelming opposition to NAFTA, the steamroller rolled on. It was there that I came to understand the one vital thing that I have been preaching ever since. There are so many issues, and so many fighting each issue, we are all spinning our wheels, and wasting our time, talents and energy, because each election, we give the politicians our power and so the deck is stacked against us. I said it that day and I say it with more fervency today. We all have one issue that we share, and we should all stop fighting for our own issues and losing anyways, and we should fight to achieve that one thing that we all share. We Canadians all have to fight to finally get a say between elections. We need to fight to make politicians accountable to us, the people. If there is no accountability, and the people have no say between elections, we have no Democracy. My Blog is written to teach the reader the essential knowledge of freedom and Democracy. Please read, and learn. I am one person, but I leave you my witness that one person is not powerless, only first you must first learn and then act. Let the democratic revolution begin. Kindest regards, Rob McQueen
