I have been a supporter of Canada re-instating the policy of Canada borrowing money from the Bank of Canada for many years. It is ridiculous for countries to borrow money from international banks when they have a sovereign right to create its own money.
Why would any Government with any intelligence borrow debt money from a private bank, and owe them money (and indebt their People) when they could instead borrow debt-free money, practically free from their own bank. Every Canadian that understands that part of the taxes you pay to the government goes to needlessly paying for borrowed money from private bankers. Every Canadian should ask their MP’s why this is done, when there is no need for the debt.
How do private banks have the right to lend out money? The Federal Government, by an act of Parliament has given them that right. Then if the Federal Government has the right to give another institution that right then they have the right to do it – for themselves, and for the benefit of the people.
