There is a story of a man that was to be executed in an Arab country for something that he did not do. The practice was for the Emperor to use a massive sword that would come down upon the person to be executed, and split the person in two. It was inevitable that he was to die, there was nothing that he could do. So to get what he felt was a measure of justice the swallowed a large stone so that when the Emperor cut him in half the sword would hit the stone thereby making a notch in the Kings perfect sword. That was as much justice that the man could achieve.
This week we had one of those situations that the people could only watch as the deaf and defiant Harper Government, along side of the stupid Trudeau caucus voted in favour of Bill C 51, the spy bill, and without the safeguard of Parliamentary oversight. Against all the rallies, against all the phone calls and emails, the Harper legislation was past in deference to the overwhelming public opposition to that bill. In spirit of that man that chipped the Emperors sword with a stone, I sent Ed Holder, Conservative MP for London for London, Ontario, this email.
Hi Ed, after you voted in favour of Bill C 51 (the spy bill), and without as much as also voting in favour of any Parliamentary oversight, I don’t trust you Conservatives to protect my freedom or my democracy, but I will say that your mail out flyer proved to be very useful holding the door open to our apartment building.
Sorry for the crease in your head.
